Xbox Game Streaming Mac
A new app called OneCast claims to bring Xbox One game streaming to Mac users for the first time natively, a feature that Microsoft only officially supports for Windows users.
Microsoft first introduced the feature back in 2015 at its Windows 10 event announcing support for using Windows 10 machines as a second screen for Xbox One over the same home network.
How to Download and Play Xbox Game Pass on PC. Complete Google sign-in to access the Play Store, or do it later. Look for Xbox Game Pass in the search bar at the top right corner. Complete Google sign-in (if you skipped step 2) to install Xbox Game Pass. Click the Xbox Game Pass icon on the home screen to start playing. I love being able to stream my Xbox to my phone, and it is great. Constant ads during intense game sessions cause a big problem for me. I do plan on buying the ad free version soon. So what I have in mind is that you should make so when the stream ends, you put a 10-30 second advertisement. OneCast is an app available for macOS (also with versions for Android, iOS and Apple TV) that streams your Xbox One games to any supported device, in high definition video with near-zero lag. Is the TV tied up with someone watching Netflix? Do you want to play your games from the comfort of your bed, or in another room away from the console? Microsoft’s xCloud is a cloud streaming element of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Users do not need a console to play the more than 100 games which are available. The service works on Safari on a Mac.
Up until now, Mac users have been attempting to use the feature with workarounds, including using virtual machine software like Parallels for Mac to run the feature via Windows. OneCast claims to provide crisp 1080p streaming for games via a native Mac app with extremely low lag and without the performance issues workarounds bring along.
The app supports both full screen and windowed modes for streaming to your Mac’s display. OneCast also lets you use the original Xbox One wireless controller by connecting via USB or Bluetooth to your Mac. It also has multi-account support to let you add an unlimited number of Xbox One consoles or Xbox Live gamertags.
The OneCast app is available to try with a 14 day trial and after that currently costs $9.99 for a license (Regular price $20).

A report earlier this week indicated that Microsoft’s new Xbox app would come to iOS with support for streaming Xbox games to your iPhone. The app is now available in beta, and The Verge has a hands-on look at how it works.
First and foremost, what’s important to note here is that the new Xbox app is not the same as Microsoft’s xCloud streaming game service. Here’s how the two compare:
- The new Xbox app lets you stream games from your Xbox One console to your iPhone
- Microsoft’s Cloud service lets you stream games directly from servers, no Xbox One console required.
Microsoft and Apple have engaged in a public dispute over whether or not streaming game services should be available through the App Store, with Microsoft balking at Apple’s stringent requirements. The new Xbox app is a new solution that at least brings remote gaming capabilities to Xbox console owners.

The Verge details how the app connects to your home Xbox One console:

You will be able to access an Xbox console over Wi-Fi, or even an LTE or 5G connection, too. As this app takes control of your home Xbox, you can remotely start your console outside of your home. The Xbox will start up without a sound or the Xbox light at the front, and when you disconnect, it goes back into standby after a brief period of inactivity.
In addition to playing games from your Xbox on your iPhone, the new Xbox application also allows you to download and share game clips and screenshots, manage settings and storage, and delete games.
Here is a short video showing how the Xbox app works on iPhone, including how to connect directly to the Xbox One console and play:
There’s no public release date for the new Xbox app for iPhone users just yet, but it should be available soon. The beta is running through Apple’s TestFlight platform, but there are currently no open spots.
